Constraints on Regge models from perturbation theory

چکیده
We study the constraints that the operator product expansion imposes on large Nc inspired QCD models for current-current correlators. We focus on the constraints obtained by going beyond the leading-order parton computation. We explicitly show that, assumed a given mass spectrum: linear Regge behavior in n (the principal quantum number) plus corrections in 1/n, we can obtain the logarithmic (and constant) behavior in n of the decay constants within a systematic expansion in 1/n. Our example shows that it is possible to have different large n behavior for the vector and pseudo-vector mass spectrum and yet comply with all the constraints from the operator product expansion.

Spin constraints on Regge predictions and perturbative evolution in high energy collisions
Two key issues in the application of perturbative QCD and Regge predictions to high energy processes are whether the hard and soft pomerons should be considered as two separate distinct exchanges and whether the Regge intercepts are Q2 independent or not. Models involving a distinct hard pomeron exchange predict much larger values for the LHC total cross-section. Here we argue that there is a p...
متن کاملPerturbative Evolution and Regge Behaviour
The known analytic properties of the Compton amplitude at small Q place significant constraints on its behaviour at large Q. This calls for a re-evaluation of the role of perturbative evolution in past fits to data.
متن کاملCurvature-based gauge-invariant perturbation theory for gravity: a new paradigm
A new approach to gravitational gauge-invariant perturbation theory begins from the fourth-order Einstein-Ricci system, a hyperbolic formulation of gravity for arbitrary lapse and shift whose centerpiece is a wave equation for curvature. In the Minkowski and Schwarzschild backgrounds, an intertwining operator procedure is used to separate physical gauge-invariant curvature perturbations from un...

Nonperturbative self-energy of a bound quark is computed gauge-invariantly in the framework of background perturbation theory. The resulting ∆m 2 q is negative and is a universal function of string tension and current quark mass. The shift of hadron mass squared, M 2 , due to ∆m 2 q is negative, large for light quarks, and solves the long-standing problem of Regge intercepts in relativistic qua...
متن کاملSuper Liouville action for Regge surfaces
We compute the super Liouville action for a two dimensional Regge surface by exploiting the invariance of the theory under the superconformal group for sphere topology and under the supermodular group for torus topology. For sphere topology and torus topology with even spin structures, the action is completely fixed up to a term which in the continuum limit goes over to a topological invariant,...
